Jacqueline Vandenplas, born on September 25, 1934, to the late Herbert and Gertrude Hickle in Vanceburg, Kentucky, departed this life on May 28, 2026. Her passing marks the end of a chapter filled with kindness, dedication, and a love for the simple joys that enriched her days.

Jacqueline’s professional journey was marked by diligent work as a bookkeeper at T. E. Booher and Sons in Albany, Indiana, and later at Bradburn Oldsmobile in Muncie, Indiana.

Beyond her career, Jacqueline cherished numerous hobbies that brought light and comfort to her life. She found peace and creativity in reading, crocheting, and needlepoint. These pastimes not only showcased her artistic spirit but also her patience and eye for detail. Her evenings often found her engrossed in game shows, a pastime that brought laughter and a sense of fun into her home.

Jacqueline is survived by her children, Sharon Beaty (Tim Southworth), and Charles (Josie) Vandenplas; grandsons, Phillip (Megan) Beaty II and Charles Vandenplas II; great-grandchildren, Xavier and Zane Beaty; and sister, Rita (Mike) Cannon.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ora Vandenplas; and sisters, Margie Sumwalt and Jean Bellar.

Funeral Services for Jacqueline will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at Garden View Funeral Home at 11:30 am, with visitation beginning at 10:30 am. Burial will immediately follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie Indiana.
