James L. Adams Sr., 70, passed away Wednesday night, September 9, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital.
Born in Muncie, he was the son of Leonard and Martha Adams. Jim worked for various employers over the years including Fred Stewart Trucking, Brodricks of Muncie where he worked twenty-nine years, and GM where he retired in 1999 after working ten years as a millwright.
He was a member of Avondale Sympathy Club, Tri-County Tractor & Engine Association, and an attendee of Albany Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Nellie Adams; two sons, James L. Adams, Jr. (wife, Sheila), Albany, and Tim L. Adams (wife, Nikki), Muncie; a daughter, Deborah K. Badders, Muncie; two sisters, Nancy R. Hamilton (husband, William), Albany, and Carolyn S. Adams, Altoona, FL; nine grandchildren, Jeral Isenhart (wife, Jennifer), Holly Isenhart, Selena Helvey (husband, Brad), Jeffery Adams (wife, Crystal), Justin Adams (wife, Nichole), Austin Hammel, Devon Adams, Skyler Hammel, and Brody Adams; seven great grandchildren, Kayden Dorman, Mason Isenhart, Conor Isenhart, Hannah Isenhart, Calyb Isenhart, Merek Helvey, Brealle Adams, and one soon to be born, Jaxon Adams. Also surviving are several nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David Adams; and a sister, Janice Adams, who died in infancy.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany.
Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN.
Visiting hours will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
