James Allen Clary, 78, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Westminster Village. He was born on July 12, 1932 in Muncie to the late Carl Beecher and Goldie Ethel (Fincher) Clary. Jim married his love Doris Jean Said on March 16, 1951 in Muncie.
Jim was an inspector for Borg Warner for 30 years, retiring in 1980. Jim was a perfectionist and enjoyed wood working, yard work, plants, flowers, mowing the grass, and fishing. Jim also enjoyed computers, working on cars, watching NASCAR, and his dogs.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Doris Clary; their two sons: Michael A. Clary (wife, Connie J.) and Jeff J. Clary (wife, Kathy), all of Muncie; 6 grandchildren: Paige Clary-Waters (husband, Brian); Molly Jo Roberts (husband, Shawn); Stephanie Borba (husband, Jason); James Michael Grady Clary (fianc, Ashley Oaks; Chasity Holt (husband, Gary); and Joshua Clary; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother Howard Clary; sister Frances Leonora Hall; and son James M. Williams.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 7, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson St, Muncie with Father Andrew Dudzinski and Deacon Gary Kuenz officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society in c/o St. Mary Catholic Church and/or St. Mary''s School.
