James David Duncan passed away June 13, 2023 at IU Health Ball Memorial hospital surrounded by his family and friends after some health issues.

David was born September 30, 1949 in Oneida, TN to James and Opal Duncan. He was raised in Muncie, IN and graduated from Wes-Del High school in 1968.

He married his wife Sandy Duncan (O'Dell) in 1971. They shared 52 wonderful years together. David is survived by his wife, Sandy and his 2 daughters, Traci Dunnuck (Jeb) of Boulder, CO and Toni Rhonemus (Troy) of Mission Viejo, CA, 2 grandchildren Lincoln and Zoie Rhonemus, brother Danny Duncan (Cheryl), sister Cathy Puterbaugh (Joe), sister in laws Nancy (Tim) Thornburg and Brenna Finchum, along with several nieces and nephews.

He spent 30 years working at Borg Warner and retired in 2003. David then spent a few years working part time at Hi-Way 3 Hardware. He was an avid western movie lover who enjoyed bowling, golf, visits to the casino, sports and spending time with his family. You would always see him with a big smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He was quick with a dad joke and always made others around him feel at ease.

He was preceded in death by his parents. We will be honoring David's life at Garden View Funeral home on Monday, June 19, 2023. Visitation from 11am-1pm, with a funeral at 1pm followed by a graveside service.
