James V. Harty, age 87, passed away on April 30, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.  He was born on February 6, 1936 in Muncie, Indiana to parents Harold Harty and Louise Harty (Shaw).

In his younger years, James enjoyed working on cars.  He also enjoyed working in his yard, taking walks, going to church, and loved Florida in the winter time.

James is survived by his daughter Linda Brotherton (husband Michael), son Robert Harty, grandchildren James Harty (wife Stacy) and Jason Brotherton, and great grandchildren Austin and Kyle Harty.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Glad Tidings Church, 3001 S Burlington Dr., Muncie, IN 47302, from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM with a funeral to follow at 2:00 PM, also at Glad Tidings Church.  Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N Old State Road 3 Muncie, IN 47303.
