James Wade Hite passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026 with his family at his side. He was 68. He was born to the late James Walter and Lommie (Meadows) Hite on October 18, 1957 in Berkley, West Virginia.

James is survived by his wife Leanna (Borror); Children: James Hite, Stephanie Borror, Dakota and Drake Hite; 8 wonderful grandchildren, 2 awesome great-grandchildren; and sister, Nora Holt.

James was preceded in death by sons, Christopher Hite and Derrick Borror; and brother, David Hite.

James enjoyed watching football, basketball and the Olympics. He also attended the Indy 500 for the last 20 years.

He was an avid animal lover, especially his dogs, they were his life.

James was a very hard worker and dedicated to his job until his illness made him stop working.

He loved his family and helped in raising 5 of his grandchildren.

James touched many lives and will be dearly missed.

A Graveside service for James will be held on Thursday, August 13th at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 SR 3, Muncie, IN 47303 at 2 PM.
