James J. "Jim" Coil, 72 of Albany, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, May 11, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born May 23, 1944 in Celina, OH and was the son of Harold D. & Dona I (Marker) Coil.
Jim was a welder for 40 years, and he loved woodworking, cooking and grilling out. He was the Past Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post #146 in Loretto, TN and was also a member of the Elks Lodge # 2206 in Lawrenceburg; TN. Jim loved spending time with his family and friends.
Jim is survived by two sons James M. Coil (Kristy) of Albany and Ted L. Coil of Royerton; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother Dennis M. Coil (Alberta) of Albion, IN; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Margaret "Honey" Hosler and two brothers Harold C. & Robert G. Coil.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date to celebrate Jim''s life. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garden View Funeral Home.
