James L. Neal, 80, of Yorktown, IN passed away on Tuesday September 2, 2008. He was born on December 16, 1927, the son of John L. Neal and Gertrude (Smith) Neal. He married his wife Martha (Dunaway) Neal in August of 1946.
Jim was self employed as a plumber most of his life. He enjoyed playing his mandolin and harmonica. He enjoyed many sports such as golf, football, boxing and baseball.
Surviving relatives include one son, Jeffery (Sherrie) Neal of Colona, IL, one daughter Julie (George) Caponigro of Canton, GA; one son, Matthew (Alexis) Neal of Muncie, one brother Sherman (Ellie) Neal of Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Violet (John) Nead of Indianapolis, IN and Mary Gray of Indianapolis, IN, and Daisy Rice of Las Vegas, NM; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and a very special friend Jim Barefoot.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, John and Harold Neal; one sister, Vesta Hughes
Services will be at 2:00 p.m.on Thursday at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 in Muncie. Pastor Dennis Trimble will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Amercian Heart Assoication or BMH Foundation in lieu of flowers. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
