James Sylvester Sr., 75, of Muncie died Thursday morning, April 12, 2018 at Golden Living Nursing Center. He was born July 20, 1942 in Muncie and was the son of the late Joseph Leo, Sr. & Dortha (Mixell) Sylvester.

James worked for 30 plus years as a sales representative for United Supply. He enjoyed working on cars and being with his family.

James is survived by his wife Charlotte Mae (Whitlock) Sylvester of Muncie; three sons James Sylvester Jr. (Terri) of Westfield, Mark Sylvester (MeLisa) of Muncie and Matthew Sylvester (Liberty) of Greenwood; five grandchildren Nathan Sylvester, Justin Abbott-Sylvester, Amanda Sylvester, Abby Gail Sylvester and Hannah Sylvester; four great-grandchildren Anastasia Falzarano, Zoey Gwen Cross, Kyser Michael and Aurora Cassady. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson Mark Aaron Cassady and a brother Joseph Leo Sylvester, Jr.
