Muncie - Jane E. Smith, 70, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.
Jane was born in Muncie on December 28, 1939, the daughter of John H. and Madonna (King) Smart and graduated from Muncie Central High School.
Mrs. Smith was employed for many years with Key Plastic in Hartford City until her retirement in 2005. She was a member of Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle of Dunkirk.
Survivors include two daughters, Carla Gray, (husband-Charles), Hartford City, and Carman Martin, (husband-Robert), Ruskin, Florida; three brothers, John Smart, (wife-Alice), Albany, Gary Smart, Marion, and Mike Smart, Royerton; a sister, Joyce Mongold, (husband-Bill), Huntington; six grandchildren, Joshua, Charles, and Steven Gray, Geneva Huxhold, Lisa Sorrell, and Whitney Martin; three great-grandchildren, Noelle, Israel, and Maybree Huxhold; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 28 years, Carl Smith; and two sisters, Donna Sword and Janet Zimmerman.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2010, at Parson Mortuary with the Reverend Bobby Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery North of Muncie.
