Janet M. Lacy-Barber, 60, of Muncie, IN died Wednesday January 12, 2011 at Bethel Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center in Muncie. She was born on October 5, 1950 in Muncie, IN the daughter of Russell Morris and Viola (Dickerson) Long.
She was great mother and grand mother. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with all her kids and grandchildren. She enjoyed helping others and had a big heart. She also enjoyed camping, dancing, singing, and writing.
Surviving relatives include five daughters, Rhonda Dampier of Muncie; Gail Daugherty (husband: Glenn) of Muncie; Crystal Threet (husband: Jeremy) of Anderson; Misty Walden of Muncie; and Ashley Lacy of Anderson; 17 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father Glenn Long; 2 grandchildren: Troy and Travis Daugherty; and brother Jeff Long.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 21, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the family of Janet Barber.
