Janet Carolyn Strauch, 72, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and formerly of Muncie, died Friday morning, January 25th, 2013 at the Hospice of Wake County in Raleigh, NC. She was born January 30th, 1940 in Muncie, IN., and was the daughter of the Winfred Howell & Mary (Scott) Kimbrough.

Janet was a graduate of Muncie Central High School and an avid Bearcats basketball fan. She graduated from Ball State University with an Associates Degree in Business. Janet managed the Raggedy Ann consignment shop for the Salvation Army. She had been an active member of the Riverside United Methodist Church. She loved children, musicals, old movies, dancing, gardening, and dogs. Her greatest passion was for books and reading, which she passed onto her family, friends, and the children she worked with at the public library and Barnes & Noble. Janet is survived by her daughter Jill Cody of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren Timothy and Carolyn Cody; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Robert Kimbrough.

Funeral Services for Janet will be held Wednesday, January 30th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor John Young officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
