Janice Sue Anderson, 79, of Arcadia, and formerly of Muncie, died Saturday afternoon, January 18th, 2014 at Miller''s Merry Manor in Tipton. She was born February 11th, 1934 in Lynn, IN, and was the daughter of the late Offitt E. & Ruby A. (Hoggatt) Locke.
Janice enjoyed watching QVC, cartoons with her grandchildren, cooking, and reading. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, whom loved taking care of her family. On November 25th, 1953 she married George P. Anderson.
Janice is survived by her five children; Kimberly Smith of Muncie, Joseph Anderson (Robin) of Lima, OH, Jeffery Anderson (Susan) of Fishers, IN, Jon Anderson (Angela) of Arcadia, IN, and Gregory Anderson of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, Shreve Roe, Brandi Anderson, Kori Anderson, Austin Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Benjamin Anderson, Emily Anderson, Renee Anderson, and Callie Anderson; one great-granddaughter, Halea Dodds; two brothers Norman Locke (Sharon) of Liberty, IN, and Max Locke (Joann) of Yorktown, IN; a sister Becky DeWitt (Jim) of Muncie; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George P. Anderson; two sister-in-laws, Carolyn Lake and Billie Gard; a sister Mila Kennedy; a niece Cathy Dampier.
Funeral Services for Janice will be held Friday, January 24th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Butler officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Friday from 12-1 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Parkinson''s Association, Alzheimer''s Association, or the American Cancer Society, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
