Jean Overton, 80 of Indianapolis, IN formerly of Brownsburg, IN went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 4, 2104 at University Heights Health and Living Center in Indianapolis. Born on June 24, 1933 in Indianapolis, IN she was the daughter of the late Myron and Gladys Stanley.
On August 5, 1951 she married Leonard L. Overton in Indianapolis.
Jean proudly served her family as a homemaker. She became a real estate agent in the Indianapolis area for many years. Jean also worked as a writer for the Brownsburg Guide Newspaper and later she became an avid student of the Hebrew language. It was also important to Jean to spend quality time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her memberships included Bethesda Baptist Church in Brownsburg, and later Faith Baptist Church in Avon.
Jean is survived by her son Leonard(Margo) Overton of Brownsburg; daughters Denise (Rick) Jackson of Greenwood and Julie (Duane) Pulliam of Danville; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother Robert Stanley (Rosemary) of Seymour.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard L. Overton, a daughter Rebecca Newby, and siblings William (Judy) Stanley, Martha (Claude) Blizard, Myron (Jane) Stanley.
A private graveside service will be held for Jean at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, IN with entombment following.
