Jeanne S. Rawlings, 96, formerly of Dunkirk, IN died Tuesday May 25, 2010 at Community Care of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born on October 18, 1913 in Ligonier, IN the daughter of Roy Merritt and Frances C. (Lane) Skinner. On July 6, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA she married Charles T. Rawlings.
She graduated from Methodist School of Nursing at Indianapolis. She worked as a Registered Nurse. She and her late husband owned Rawlings Pharmacy in Dunkirk, IN. While living in Dunkirk, she was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing the organ and growing African Violets.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Robert R. Rawlings (Linda) of Dunkirk, IN; Donald C. Rawlings (Elaine) of Murfreesboro, TN; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday May 28, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer''s Association.
