Jerald R. Nelson age 81, of Muncie,IN passed away Thursday July 11, 2013 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. He was the son of the late Fred and Lovisa (Wight) Nelson and was born on September 1, 1931 in Brigham City,UT.
Jerald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and following that he became an aerospace computer programmer.
His hobbies include being an avid amateur ham radio operator and also photography.
Survivors include loving wife Patricia (Buchanan) Nelson of Muncie; children Carlene Grover, Debbie Langer, and Mikkel Nelson of ID, David Nelson, Jay Nelson, and Paul Nelson of CA, LuAnne Toskins of NV, and Jeanine Richens, Luke Nelson, Jerald Nelson II, and Lovisa McBee of UT; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step-brother Fred Dayley of ID.
In addition to his parents Jerald was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services for Jerald will be held on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with calling one hour prior at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 4800 W. Robinwood Drive, Muncie. Bishop Eric Fenstermaker will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. Indiana 3 Muncie.
