Jerry Edwin Buckles "Popo", 68, of Selma , IN left his loving family to dwell in Heaven on Wednesday March 28, 2007 from Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie . He was born on January 2, 1939 and in 1957 he graduated from Selma High School . On July 26, 1957 in Albany , IN he married Nancy Brewer, his high school sweetheart.
Jerry loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his wife. He was a tool and die maker. He enjoyed working on cars and was a transmission specialist for Paul Abel Motors. He also was a retired Delaware County Police Officer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 212 in Pennville , IN and the Ft. Wayne Scottish Rite. He enjoyed painting ceramics, woodworking, and his dog Lucy whom he called his baby dumplin''.
Surviving relatives include his wife of fifty years, Nancy Buckles of Selma; one son, Clifton John Buckles of Muncie; two daughters, Teresa Friddle (husband: Jerry) of Yorktown, IN and Sherri Gentry (husband: Larry) of Muncie; seven grandchildren, Eric Friddle; Ashley Hill; C.J. Buckles; Timothy Edwin Gentry (US Marine Corps); Travis Edwin Gentry; Jacob Buckles; Kristen Buckles; four great-grandchildren, Kaylee Friddle; Keith Friddle; Titus Hill; and E.J. Buckles.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, John Edwin Buckles and a great granddaughter, Krysten Friddle.
