Jerry Joe Clark, 79, of Muncie, IN, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 13, 1930 in Elwood, IN to the late Cleo A. and Zella M. (Sorrell) Clark. Jerry is a 1948 graduate of Elwood High School. Jerry was very proud to serve in the Army. He was a Sergeant in the Medical Core and served during the Korean War.
Jerry was employed with Westinghouse/ABB for 30 years before retiring in 1992. Jerry belonged to the Eagles and the Moose. Jerry was also an avid reader; a die-hard Cub''s fan; and very much enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his companion and sweetie, Jo Hammond of Muncie, IN; his 2 sons: Kevin C. Clark (wife, Linn) of Springfield, OH and Scott A. Clark (wife, Linda) of Muncie; mother of his children and dear friend, Linda Huntsman of Lakeland, FL; 6 grandchildren: Kimberly Clark; Ashley Hoing (husband, Adam); Nikole Clark; Kristal Wible (husband, Tyler); Alex Pollett; and Nick Pollett; and 2 great-grandchildren with another granddaughter on the way: Addie Nemore and Lilly Wible.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Military Honors given by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
