Obituary

Muncie - Jerry Vance Crow died peacefully at his residence, "The Crow''s Nest," on January 30, 2016.

To those who knew him, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Jerry was born November 10, 1935 in Muncie. He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1954. He worked as a lifeguard at Tuhey Pool, and was awarded the American National Red Cross Certificate of Merit in 1955 for rescuing a Muncie boy from an accidental drowning. He began working for the Delco-Remy division of General Motors in 1955, retiring in 1998 after 44 years as a senior project engineer. During his time there, he was awarded three U.S. Patents for his innovative designs. On Feb. 13, 1965, he married the love of his life and soulmate.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 51 years, Janice Marie (Eltzroth) Crow; five daughters: Kathy (Bob) Boros, South Bend; Karon (Lance) Molenda, Porter; Lisa Goodpaster and Angela Rapp, Muncie; and Alison Crow (fianc John Holding), Eaton; 12 grandchildren: Kym (Jason) Bango, and Kelly (Jason) Wisniewski, South Bend; Airman Jared Molenda, Holloman AFB New Mexico; Braelyn Molenda, Porter; LeAndra Goodpaster, Brownsburg; Daulton Goodpaster, Bloomington; Jensen Goodpaster, Muncie; Amanda Adams, Eaton; Jake Adams, Muncie; Tanner, Hannah and Maggie Rapp, Muncie; seven great-grandchildren: Adam Sharpe, Kevin and Cady Bango, and Dexter Wisniewski, South Bend; Rylee and Connor Adams, Eaton; and Lilly Adams of Muncie; a sister, Betty (Gary) Clevenger, Muncie; 4 sisters-in law: Joyce (Floyd) Williams, Albany; Sharon (Kenny) Miller, Indianapolis, Betty (Mike) Cline, Gaston; Nila (Ken) Henson, Wildwood, MO. 2 brothers-in law: Charlie (Julie) Eltzroth, Dunkirk and Neil Eltzroth, Fort Wayne; 16 nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Harold W. and mother Juanita M. (Hudson) Crow and an infant son.

Friends and relatives may pay their respects at Garden View Funeral Home between 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 and 10-11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 5. The service to celebrate Jerry''s incredible life will be Friday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Memorials may be made to the Little Red Door/Cancer Services of East Central Indiana.
