Jerry Ray VanNatter, 57, of Muncie, IN, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 30, 1951 in Muncie, IN, to the late Eugene S. and Vivian Pearl (Farmer) VanNatter.
Jerry graduated from Muncie Southside High School. Jerry was a general contractor in the construction industry. Jerry attended New Covenant Ministries in Muncie.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Debbie A. (Bowden) VanNatter of 2 1/2 years; daughters, Charity Riddell (husband: Jeff) of Muncie, IN; Kristin Whitesell (husband: Paul) of Hartford City, IN; Brooke Gardner (husband: Rob) of Hartford City, IN; and Amber VanNatter of Muncie, IN; step-sons Shawn Bowden (wife: Ellen) of Selma, IN; and Eric Poore (wife: Michelle) of Muncie, IN; sisters Phyllis Sons (husband: Gene) of New Castle, IN; and Sandy White (husband: Bill) of Fairview, IN; grandchildren, Kayleigh, Derek, Robby, Braden, and Morgan; step-grandchildren, Damen, Hallie, Macie, and Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandy Poore; and brothers, Eugene "Duane" VanNatter and Tommy VanNatter.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Kenneth Dodson will officiate the service with special assistance by family member Matthew Shaw. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Embrace Hospice, 1029 S. 14th Street, New Castle, IN.
