Jim Dishman, 66, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Cardinal Care Strategies after being in failing health for some time.
He was born on July 19, 1958 in Muncie, Indiana to Everett Lee and Susie Jane (Crabtree) Dishman. He attended Riley Elementary, McKinley Jr. High, and graduated from Muncie Central High School. Jim lived his entire life in the Muncie area after serving his country with the United States Navy stationed in California. After his years in the Navy, he honed his technical expertise with employment at Reber Machine and Tool.
Jim was a fun-loving, sharp-witted individual that could converse on any subject. Growing up in a family-orientated neighborhood, he had many friends and could always tell a
"good story" with a twinkle in his eye! His kindness, helpful nature, and comedic presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him
Jim is survived by his children Cordell (Amy) Dishman, Muncie, IN, Andrew Dishman, Savannah, GA, grandchildren Tyler (Aaliyah) Dishman, Muncie, IN, Kianna Dishman, Ansonia, OH, one great grandson Joel Dishman, as well as siblings, Karen (Rick) Doggett, Sharon (Mike) Logan, Roberta Dishman, and Jerry D. (Judy) Dishman, all of the Muncie area, and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and his older brother Rick and sister-in-law Jenny Dishman.
Family and friends may call at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N St. Rd. 3, Muncie IN 47303, on Friday, February 28th, 2025 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jase Crehan officiating at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Garden View Funeral Home; online condolences can be made at www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com.
