Joan Grace Felton, 86, of Muncie, passed away at 10:28 am, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Morrison Woods in Muncie. She was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, on January 30, 1940, to Raymond and Laverne (Strandell) Pease. She married Merrill Felton on January 31, 1959, and he preceded her in 2024.

She graduated from Center High School, class of 1956 and attended Ivy Tech for accounting and business. She worked as a business office manager for most of her life at both Tomken and Jefferson Smurfit Corporation until her retirement in 1997.

Joan loved to bowl in her younger years and was a multi championship trophy holder. She had helped her daughter, Kim, in her 4-H years making memories. Joan loved to travel all over out West to South Dakota, where she grew up, and Las Vegas where she risked it all. She enjoyed a good game of euchre, working in her garden where she canned several of her harvests, and painting. She supported her Southside Marching Band and would always take walks often with her good friend Winnie.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Larry) Byrd of Muncie; sisters, Jone (Allen) Clark of Muncie and Joy (Randy) Batt of Muncie; grandson, Tyler (fiancée Jessica) Morrow; great-grandchildren, Bryler Morrow, Emma Bailey, and Bryson Fairchild; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Merrill; brothers, George Pease and Donald Pease; and grandson, Brandon Morrow.

The family would like to extend gratitude to the amazing staff at Morrison Woods in Muncie.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN 47303.

A funeral service will follow immediately after at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Trimble officiating.

Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
