Jodi Ann Franklin, 48 of Muncie died Thursday afternoon at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born September 26th, 1967 in Muncie and is the daughter of Larry L. and Judi E. (Swander) Smith.
Jodi was a graduate of Heritage Hall High School. She attended college and received her Bachelor''s degree in Education from Asbury and Ball State University. She taught Computer Science at Cowan Elementary for two years. Jodi loved cooking and watching cooking shows on television. She loved making crafts, gardening, flowering and going camping with her family. Jodi loved her two children more than anything. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and aunt.
Jodi is survived by her loving husband Gregory Glen Franklin of Muncie; a daughter Madison Marie Franklin and a son Wesley John Franklin both of Muncie; her parents Larry L. and Judi E. Smith of Albany; a brother Tim M. Smith (BJ) of Eaton; an aunt Jill Reed of Memphis, TN; a niece Kate Alcini (Sam) of Muncie; an multiple family members in the Marion, IN area as well. Jodi was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Charles and Clysta Smith, maternal grandparents Wesley and Blanche Swander, and an aunt Janet Smith.
Funeral Services for Jodi will be held Tuesday, April 5th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Dennis Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, April 4th, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes provided at the funeral home
