PLYMOUTH - Joel Thurman Bailey, 96, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor in Plymouth, Indiana.
He was born March 25, 1914 in Muncie, the son of John and Foster (Sacket) Bailey. Joel was the owner and operator of Baileys Maintenance for over twenty years and had previously worked Muncie Chevrolet and Marathon Oil. Mr. Bailey was a charter member of North Walnut Street Nazarene Church.
Survivors include his two daughters, Freda Hunnicutt and Viola Marquis; a brother, John Bailey; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Morgan) Bailey; a sister, Ellen Rogers; a brother, Jim Bailey; a step-sister, Gladys Clevenger; and his parents.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Bowland officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends and family may call from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Mortuary.
