Joellen McQueen Shafer, 80, of Selma Indiana went home to be with our Lord on Sept 20, 2022. After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at her home in Selma. She was born on April 1, 1942 in Muncie Indiana. A daughter of Burton and Velma McQueen.
She courageously raised 3 children. She was able to go back to school and get her Highschool Diploma and an Associates degree in early childhood development in part to her Husbands help and participating and great encouragement. She owned her own Balloon and Flower Business and known as Poppett the Clown for which she went to Clown College.
She also did Secret Santa Christmas before that was ever known of in this area. She fought tirelessly for her family along with her Husband for who ever needed the most help.
Those left to cherish her memory include her Husband of 33 years George Shafer, 3 Daughters- Shawna Carroll (friend Ronnie) Holly McDaniel, Michelle Shafer. 2 Sons- Kevin Heath (Amy) and Stephen (Stephanie) Shafer. 6 Grandchildren- Trevor, Mackenzie, Boaz, Tannen, Lydia and Lauren. 2 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchildren. 1 Sister- Kristi Wooky (Brent) 1 Brother- Herbert Barton (Cherie) 2 Special friends- Kristene Williamson and Brenda Kay
She is preceded in death by her Parents, 3 Brothers, 1 Sister, 2 Grandsons- Dr'e Cooley and Tyler McDaniel and 1 Great Grandson
Services will be held at Garden View Funeral Home at 10501 N SR 3, Muncie, In 47303. Calling will be Tuesday Sept 27, 2022 from 12:00-1:00P.M. with service at 1:00P.M with burial to follow at the Cemetery.
