John D. Beatrice, 82, of Avon, IN, formerly of the Muncie, IN area, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday June 2, 2011 at The Village of Avon. He was born on January 1, 1929 the son of Frank and Ruth (Cherry) Beatrice. On November 10, 1945 he married Betty Lou (Racer) Beatrice who preceded him in death in 2000.
John had been a proprietor with Keystone Supply and later retired in 1991 from Joint & Clutch. He spent a year in 2003 as a Pastor of the Ridgeville United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. John was a member of the Gideons International for over 45 years.
Surviving relatives include two sons and two daughters, Dennis Lee Beatrice (Tina) of Ft. Wayne, IN; John D. Beatrice, Jr. (Sharon) of Hartford City, IN; Kathy Ann Santon (William) of Avon, IN; Carol VanAlst (Tom) of Dunkirk, IN; two brothers, Joseph Beatrice of Muncie, IN; Robert Beatrice (Sue) of Dunkirk, IN; one sister, Mary Jo Simpson of Maryville, KY; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday June 6, 2011 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Sharon Taylor will officiate the service. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Alzheimer''s Association.
