John Alden Bell, 75, of Hartford City, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on May 22, 1935 in Hartford City to the late Thomas Orlando and Orpha Viola (Jones) Bell. On September 6, 1958 John married his love, Janice Thomas in Hartford City.
John worked for 3M Company in Hartford City for 42 ½ years as a paper maker and laminator before retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #225 in Hartford City since 1969. John was also a member of Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle in Dunkirk. John also loved going camping at Yoga Bear Camp Grounds and driving his golf cart in Pierceton, IN. Additionally, John enjoyed traveling and vacationing locally and abroad.
John is survived by his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Janice Bell; brother Clarence Bell (wife, Barbara) of Huntington, IN; 2 sisters: Charlotte Reff of Hartford City, and Lucille Waters (husband, David) of Middletown, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Timothy Allen Bell; 4 brothers: Dick, Jack, Dewayne, and Clifford; and sister Phyllis Hamilton.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with visitation also one hour prior to the service. Reverend Bobby Thomas will officiate the service.
