John G. Featherston, 84, of Muncie, IN died Tuesday march 13, 2007 at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on January 29, 1923 in Delaware County, IN the son of John L. and Agnes (Chapman) Featherston. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In March of 1952 he married Phyllis Featherston who preceded him in death in 1986.
He retired from Borg Warner in 1987 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles and the Widowers Club in Alexandria. He was also a member of the Legion of Cammack. He enjoyed fishing, farming, watching IU sports, and watching Cubs baseball games.
Surviving realtives include three sons, William L. Featherston (wife: Karen)of Kokomo, IN; Joseph A. Featherston (wife: Loretta) of Muncie, IN; Jim A. Featherston (wife: Sherry) of Muncie; one daughter, Janis R. Robertson of Muncie; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday March 17, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
