John Hill, 80, of Muncie, IN, died Monday, November 15, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 13, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Harry and Lillian (Knapp) Hill. On November 24,1968, he married Annis M. Hill who preceded him in death on February 4, 2009.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 25 years. He also worked at Midwest Towel for over 20 years. He enjoyed reading and bowling. He also enjoyed talking and visiting with family and friends.
Surviving relatives include his son Tom Ault of Daleville, IN; and son John H. Hill (wife: Amanda) of Muncie, IN; daughter Paula Wooten (husband: Larry) of Farmland, IN; brother, Dick Hill (Sharon) of St. Cloud, Minn; two sisters Maria Hill of Brookfield, Ill; Helen Hill of St. Cloud, Minn.; six grandchildren, Josh Wooten (wife: Crystal) of Muncie, IN; Desiree Wooten (fianc: Pat Adair) of Muncie, IN; Haley Hill of Muncie, IN; Lindsey Stetler (husband: Tyler) of Muncie, IN; Lacey Ault of Indianapolis, IN; Jesse Ault of Muncie, IN; as well as many special nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Cregg Sexton will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Muncie. Military honors will be given by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Diabetes Association in memory of John Hill.
