Obituary

John "Jack" William Clevenger, Jr., 83, of Muncie, died late Sunday evening, July 27th, 2014 at Liberty Village Healthcare in Muncie. He was born June 25th, 1931 in Terre Haute, IN, and was the son of the late John William, Sr. & Lucille L. (Frye) Clevenger.
"Jack" retired in 1994 from Borg Warner. He was very active in the Local UAW 287, Eagles Lodge 231, Moose Lodge, Masonic Lodge 171 in Albany, and the American Legion. "Jack" owned and operated the Village Inn Bar from 1982-1992. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, woodworking, fishing, gardening, and was an avid sports fan. He graduated in 1950 from Eaton High School. He honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Army.
"Jack" is survived by his wife Ina Joyce (Hoffman) Clevenger of Muncie; two sons, Michael Clevenger (Diana) of Modoc, and David Clevenger (Lisa) of Germany; a daughter Janeen McIntire (Brit) of Albany; a step-daughter Kim Stinson of Muncie; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren including a special great-grandson, Nathan Stinson,residing with him; two brothers, Don Clevenger (Sandra) of Strawberry Point, IA, and Arnold Clevenger (Shirley) of Albany; "Jacks Girls", his two pet dogs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Wright; grandson Bradley Gibson; sister Doloras Shank Arbogast; and brother Dean Clevenger.
Funeral services for "Jack" will be held privately at Garden View Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delaware County Senior Citizens or to ARF.
