John Bud'' Ruben Jinks, 69, of Muncie, IN passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Muncie Health & Rehabilitation Center in Muncie. He was born on December 14, 1940 in Henry County, IN, to the late Leonard Lavern and Edith (Nicely) Jinks. On December 22, 1961 John married Wilma Jane Rench in Muncie.
John was a very devoted member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles for over 40 years holding every position except treasurer. He belonged to Lodge #231 in Muncie. He was also a steelworker for Broadricks in Muncie; painted storefront windows; worked in furniture stores; played the electric guitar; loved to camp and fish; was an avid football fan; was tagged Grasshopper'' in the CB Radio days; and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include his two children: Charles Jinks (fianc, Heather Atkins) of Muncie and Melanie Didier (husband, Carl) of Fort Wayne; brother Leonard Butch'' Jinks, Jr (wife, Joanne) of Farmland, IN; two grandchildren: Elizabeth Gail and Olivia Gale Atkins; companion in life, Jane Jinks; and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Carolyn Sue Garrett.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN. A Fraternal Order of Eagles Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. Memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society, 1216 Meridian Street, Anderson, IN 46016 and/or to the family to defray funeral costs.
