Obituary

John C. Ray, 57, passed away early Saturday morning, February 20, 2010 at the Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.
He was born on October 23, 1952 in Muncie, the son of Edward P. and Teddy (Boles) Ray. John was a 1971 graduate of Muncie Southside High School. In the early 1970's he was part of the U.S. Air Force having served as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist.
Mr. Ray had worked several jobs in the Muncie area, the last one was for St. Gobain Manufacturing for two years prior to his disability.
John was a member of the American Legion from Indianapolis. He enjoyed working with the Leo Band as their lighting and sound man and also making photo's on the computer. Mr. Ray was interested in history and collected Wolves and Eagles.
Survivors' include his mother, Teddy Ray, Muncie; two brothers, Edward Ray (wife, Jenny) and Randall Ray both of Muncie; two sisters, Cindy Zimmerman (husband, Jerry), Muncie and Ellen Ray, Tampa, Florida; one nephew, Robert Ray (wife, Jodi), Tampa, Florida; two nieces, Jodi Brown, Yorktown and Dawn Ray, Muncie; a special friend, Joe Moore, Muncie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Ray in 1995; and his son, Nicholas Allen Ray in 1977.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Parson Mortuary with Brother Denell Howard officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory north of Muncie. Military Honors will be performed by the Delaware County Honor Guard,
Friends may call on Thursday, February 25, 2010, at the Parson Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
