John A. Resch, 91, of Muncie passed away with his family at his side on Monday November 28, 2022 at his residence in Muncie. He was born March 12. 1931 in New Albany, Indiana. A son of the late Chester and Lanora Resch.


John  was a veteran  of the U.S. Navy serving in Korea. He was an optician and owner operator of Quality House Optical before his retirement.


He was also a Charter member of 5,000th Kiwanis on Southside of Muncie going through all the chairs to become president in 1991. He was elected LT Governor for the state in Kiwanis. John also enjoyed camping, boating and flying his own plane. he loved spending time with his family and friends by whom he will be greatly missed.


He is survived by his wife Roma Resch of Muncie, his son Keith (Robyn) Resch of Illinois, his Daughter Linda (Thomas) Wiley,  a sister Dorothy (Jewell) Cook of Jeffersonville. A sister-in-law Rebecca Resch of Charleston, Indiana. 4 grandchildren, Christopher (Nikki) Traub, Cari (Kyle) Huntzinger, Lindsey (Kyle) Anderson, Brandi (B.J) Verstraete. 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother William Resch and 1 sister Theresa Smith.


The family will hold a Memorial Service on December 16, 2022 at 11AM at Shawnee Heights Baptist Church with Jeff Mosier Officiating. Garden View Funeral Home is honored to assist the Resch family at this time.
