John A. Schultz, 87 of Alexandria, died Friday afternoon, October 6, 2017 at Community Hospital of Anderson. He was born July 16, 1930 in Muncie and was the son of the late Clyde A. & Kathryn (Williamson) Schultz.
John retired as a Detective with the Muncie Police Department and had served as a Deputy Sherriff with the Delaware County Sheriff''s Department. He also drove for McClean Trucking for 11 years. John proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. John was a 1948 graduate of Burris High School.
John is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Ethel (Key) Schultz of Alexandria; three sons John C. Schultz (Maryjo) of Ohio, Phillip Schultz of Tennessee, and Robert Schultz, (Jean) of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister Linda Botkin (Mel) of Indiana.
Private graveside service for John will be held in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garden View Funeral Home.
