John Mark Swartz of Muncie, Indiana passed away unexpectedly at the age of 55 in Anderson, Indiana on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. He was born on July 5, 1965 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Marvin Dale Swartz and Peggy Jo (Rantz) Weaver.

John graduated from Monroe Central High School in Parker City, Indiana and continued his education in law enforcement. He married Deandra Caldwell on November 12, 1990. He served our country in the United States Army. He worked as a truck driver for Cowan Services for 5 years. He was a first responder, fireman, deputy marshall, and police instructor. He attended Bible Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

John is survived by the mother of his children; Deandra Caldwell; son, Johnathon Swartz of Franklin, Indiana; daughter, Kelsey Ferrell (Tyler) of Muncie, Indiana; brothers, Chris Swartz and Dale Swartz, Jr.; sisters, Gail Franklin, Tina Filby, Patty Crawford, Sheri Perrault, and Peggy Darlene Weaver; and three grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Dale Swartz and Peggy Jo (Rantz) Weaver and brothers, Curtis Hicks and Eugene Weaver.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home and with Military Honors.
