Obituary

Julia L. Green, 78, of Muncie , IN died Friday May 1, 2009, at Westminster Village in Muncie . She was born on June 23, 1930 in Hartford City , IN the daughter of Marion W. and Alma M. (Markin) Cooper. She graduated from Hartford City High School in 1948. On June 19, 1949 she married Edward Green who preceded her in death.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and watching them play sports. She worked as a nurse''s aide for 20 years at Ball Memorial Hospital . She was a member of the Fountain Square United Methodist Church and was active with 55 & Alive and Gethsemane Singles.
Surviving relatives include her two sons and three daughters, Randall J. Green (wife: Mary) of Cream Ridge , NJ ; Robert J. Green of Muncie , IN ; Debra J. Massey (husband: Daniel) of Ft. Worth , TX ; Tammy J. Shoultz (husband: Rick) of Greenfield , IN ; Kathy J. Ice (husband: Rob) of Muncie, IN; two brothers, Paul Cooper of Camarillo, CA; William Cooper (wife: Sue) of Hartford City, IN; three sisters, Betty Myers (husband: J.W.) of Muscatine, Iowa; Joan Zent (husband: Ed) of Ft. Wayne, IN; Joyce Bowers (husband: Bob) of Hollywood, FL; grandchildren, Brandon C. Massey (wife: Jessica) of Ft. Wayne, IN; Daniel P. Massey of Shelbyville, IN; Stephanie A. Green of Lebanon, OH; Ashley A. Green of Cream Ridge, N.J.; Matthew A. Sewell of Greenfield, IN; Devin Z. Ice of Muncie, IN; Kobee B. Ice of Muncie, IN; two great-grandchildren, Caylin and Brandon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 6, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Steve Graves will officiate the service. Burial will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie . Visitation will be on Tuesday May 5, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in Memory of Julia Green.
