June Park Jackson, age 87, of Parker City, formerly of Muncie, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 12, 1924 in Muncie to Earl and Edna (Claxton) Park. June was a graduate of Muncie Central High School and later worked at WLBC as a Bookkeeper, Comptroller and Assistant Vice President when she retired. She married Robert E. Jackson and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2000. June was an avid reader and she enjoyed walking.
She is survived by her sons, Robert P. Jackson (wife Kathy) of Indianapolis, William K. "Bill" Jackson (wife Bobbi) of Silver Spring, MD, and Dick Jackson (wife Diane) of Parker City; grandchildren, Ryan Jackson (wife Ann) of Arvada, CO, Anneke Hill (husband Woodrow) of Raleigh, NC, Stefanie Lyons (husband Jason) of Parker City, Steven Jackson (wife Heather) and Sandy Smith (husband Eric) all of Kokomo, IN; 5 great grandchildren. June was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Walter "Walt" Park.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN 47303, with Pastor William Salsberg officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to Alzheimer''s Association, 9135 N. Meridian Street, Ste. B-4, Indianapolis, IN 46209. The family would also like to thank the many caregivers at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center for all of their caring and support.
