Karen Lee Shull Clem, 71, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 19, 2020 surrounded by her family at Community Hospital in Anderson following a brief illness. Karen was born in Muncie, Indiana on October 26, 1948 to the late Williard and Nancy Shull, the youngest of their four children.
She graduated from Harrison Township High School in 1966 and Ball State University in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Karen began working at Ball State University as a student and following graduation took her first professional position in the personnel department. Karen also worked for the President's office and Ball State Department of Public Safety prior to her retirement in 2005 following 28 years of service.
Karen loved music of all sorts and had a passion for singing. She was a faithful member of the choir in each church she attended, she sang at funerals, weddings and also spent time as a member of the Masterworks Chorale ensemble in Muncie during the late 1980's. Karen was an active member of Bethany Christian Church where she participated in the choir, volunteered with the Sunday school program and loved her time spent with the Lydia Women's Circle. She would sing and dance for you at will and always helped put a smile on your face. Karen also loved all animals, she loved to travel, play games and laugh. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a proud and loving wife, mom, stepmom, grandma, aunt and sister.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Larry Clem of Anderson; daughter, Krista Kelley Radican (husband, Chris) of Noblesville; granddaughters, Anna and Delaney Radican of Noblesville; stepsons, Ryan Clem (wife, Shelley); Michael Clem (fiancé, Andrea) and Alex Clem (wife, Erin); brother, Bill Shull (wife, Marge) of West Islip, New York; brother, Brice Shull of Fort Wayne; and many loving nieces and nephews along with their children and grandchildren.
In addition, Karen had many lifelong friends who supported her throughout her lifetime and remained dear to her heart always.
Gone but never forgotten are the family members that preceded her in death: her brother, Bob Shull; her sister, Rose Ann Trego; brother-in-law, Jim Trego; brother Reginald Shull and her parents.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, until service time. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Gabe Ohmes officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Muncie ARF, a local not for profit animal rescue at https://munciearf.com/helparf/ .
