Kathaleen "Kay" Irene Elliott, 94, of Redkey, died early Tuesday morning, December 3rd, 2013. She was born June 13th, 1919 in Parker City, and was the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Godwin) Jerles.
Kay was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and Past Matrons, Gamma Nu Sorority, and the Cosmos Club. She attended beauty school, and operated her own beauty shop. Kay enjoyed playing bingo, euchre, traveling, and reading. She especially enjoyed her family.
Kay is survived by her four children, Gary Elliott of Las Vegas, NV, John Elliott (Linda) of Evergreen, CO, Marsha Helm (Jerry) of Redkey, and Judith Blake of Fort Wayne; a sister Betty Stilwell of Toledo, OH; and a brother Howard Jerles (Ardonna) of Redkey; grandchildren, Amy Bowser (John) of Fort Wayne, Kenny Blake of Fort Wayne, Scott Elliott (Susan) of Arlington, TX, Dana Voelkel and Donna Duncan of Bullhead City, AZ, Zack Elliott (Kurumi) of Tokyo, Japan, Cody Elliott (Hollie) of Portland, OR, Jessie Elliott of CO, Scott Helm (Janet) of Granbury, TX, Brett Helm (Andrea) of Phoenix, AZ, Kimberly Miller (Tony) of Anderson, Jeri Lynn Skinner (Rick) of New Port Richey, FL, Dusty Hayes (Reagan) of Castro Valley, CA, Chris Hayes of Fort Wayne, Jay Helm (Chere) of New Port Richey, FL, Tyler Helm (Nicole) of Greenville, IN; 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive . In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur M. Elliott in 1997; a sister Guilaf Hoover; three brothers Harvey, James, and Herman Jerles.
Funeral Services for Kathaleen will be held Saturday, December 7th, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Rev. Sharon Taylor officiating, Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
