Katherine M. (Gruwell) Bebout, 90, of Muncie, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 22, 1920 in Muncie to William and Merrill (Lycan) Stanley. Katherine attended Muncie Central High School.
She was a manager for Picture Island and also worked at Gruwell Furniture, retiring in 1989. Katherine was a member of Full Gospel Temple. She was well known as a good cook, best known for her homemade noodles and pies.
She is survived by son Jerry L. Gruwell (wife, Linda); daughter, Donna Atkinson (husband, Gary); five grandchildren, David Gruwell (wife, Carrie), Debra Gruwell, Jeffrey Case (wife, Mary), Kimberly Williams (husband, Dennis) and Christopher Atkinson; six step-grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Derwood Gruwell and George Bebout; step-son, Jerry Bebout; granddaughter, Cheri Hartman; two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 21, 2011 at Full Gospel Temple, 212 West 7th Street, Muncie, Indiana 47302 with Pastor Denny Helton officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Parson Mortuary and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
