Katheryn Jane Dawes, 93, went to heaven on Friday, March 16, 2018. She was born on October 23, 1924 in Port Clyde, Maine to Sidney and Alma (Davis) Andrews.

Katheryn was married to her loving husband Robert "Bob" Dawes on January 28, 1947. She was a longtime member of The Garden at Gethsemane United Methodist Church. Katheryn belonged to Lydia Circle and Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. She spent many years working for Welcome Wagon. Katheryn was a wonderful, devoted homemaker. She enjoyed reading, watching football games, gardening, bird watching and baking. Katheryn made the best pies, brownies and chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed her time with friends lunching, shopping and traveling. Katheryn most of all cherished time with her family. Katheryn will be remembered for her kind heart, helping others, joyous fun-loving spirit and always optimistic. We will miss her dearly.

Katheryn is survived by her two daughters Cynthia Cring (Howard) of Muncie and Lynne Wallace (Woody) of Hightstown, NJ; four grandchildren Justin Cring, Ross Fadely (Sarah), Shelby Wallace and Koranda Walsh (Eric); five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Dawes, a grandson Jason Cring and a sister Leah Andrews.

The Celebration of Katheryn's life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Garden at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 1201 West McGalliard, Muncie, with Rev. Vickie Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Falls Cemetery in Wabash, IN. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Garden at Gethsemane Church with envelopes provided at the church. A Special thank you goes to Keystone Woods assisted Living Facility in Anderson and Golden Living Facility in Muncie and Hospice group for their excellent care. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garden View Funeral Home.
