Kathryn M. (Nelson) Scott, 86, of Muncie, IN died Monday March 16, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 14, 1922 in Cass County the daughter of James Everett and Marie Sophia (Berg) Nelson. She graduated from Young America High School, Young America, IN. On December 24, 1940 she married Walter Eugene Gene'' Scott in Walton, IN.
She was a member of Mount Olive Community Church in Muncie, IN. Kathryn was an avid reader. As well, Kathryn loved people and life to the fullest.
Surviving relatives include one daughter, Judy K. Beach (husband: Larry) of Muncie, IN; one son, Everett L. Scott (wife: Susan) of Noblesville, IN; four grandchildren: Patricia K. (Scott) Keene (husband: James) of Noblesville, IN; Sandie (Scott) David (husband: the late Arthur) of Noblesville, IN; Kevin Beach (finance: Sandra) of Muncie, IN; and Kurt Beach (wife: Kerrie) of Perrysburg, OH; five great-grandchildren: Ivan Keene, Kaylee David, Camden David, Caden David, and Mikayla Beach.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Walter of 59 1/2 years, brother Paul E. Nelson, and sister Doris Brubaker.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday March 20, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Galveston Cemetery, Galveston, IN. Reverend Rodney Eiler will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday March 19, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Olive Community Church, 5000 N.
