Kay Woodall, 72, of Muncie, IN died at 11:12 a.m. on Saturday January 20, 2007 at Hickory Creek of New Castle. She was born on April 27, 1934 in Indianapolis, IN the daughter of Lew Wallace and Betty (Moore) Cooper. She was a veteran of the Women''s Army Corp during the Korean War.
Kay lived in the Florida Keys for several years before moving back to be with her family whom she loved and enjoyed spending time with. She worked in Human Resources in Florida for TIB Bank. She was a past treasurer for the Habitat for Humanity and the Key Largo Church of the Nazarene in Florida. Most recently she worked at Wal-Mart in New Castle, Indiana and she was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the United Brethren in Christ in Muncie.
Surviving relatives include her twin sister, Gay Burford of Muncie, IN; two nephews and two nieces, Beth Burford Lahr (husband: Jay) of Huntington, IN; Kirk Burford of Hartford City; Tim Burford (wife: Jayne) of Muncie, IN; Tami Burford of Muncie; two special friends, Pam Cross of New Castle and Shelby Chalfant of Muncie, IN. Also surviving are several great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday January 24, 2007 at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Marvin Hahn will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Little Red Door Cancer Services or Pleasant Hill U.B. Church in Muncie. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
