On Thu, 1Kenneth E. Augsburger, 88, of Muncie, IN. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 29, 2008 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on February 21, 1920 in Adam''s County IN the son of Chris and Ida (Fox) Augsburger. He married Helen Habegger on October 5, 1946 in Berne, IN.
He was an upholsterer at Berne Furniture in Berne, IN, and owner of Kenny''s Upholstery in Fort Wayne from 1972 to 1998. Kenneth is a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Muncie, and he served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946.
Surviving relatives include wife of 62 years, Helen K. Augsburger of Muncie, two daughters, Shauna Habegger (husband Neil) of Muncie, Alice Cole (husband Ken) of Bangkok, Thailand, seven grandchildren, Greg Habegger ( wife Katie) of Indianapolis, Brenda Whisler (husband Aaron) of Muncie, Philp Habegger ( wife Amy) of Muncie, K. Michael Cole of Okinawa, Japan, Kevin Cole of Cedarville Ohio, Katie Cole of Columbus, Ohio and Kraig Cole of Cedarville, Ohio, three great-grandchildren, Anna Habegger, Madeline and Micah Whisler, brother, Clyde Augsburger of Berne.
He was preceded in death by parents, three sisters, and a grandson
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 1, 2008 at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, Indiana, 47303, with one hour visitation before service. Rev. Neil Habegger will officiate the service. Viewing will be on Friday October 31, 2008 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions can be made to the ABWE Ministry for Ken and Alice Cole, and Heritage Hall Christian School for Andy Habegger Memorial Scholarship Fund.
