Obituary

Neil Hough departed this world on April 6, 2023, to join his beloved wife, Betty and three of his six children: Lona Carnes, Steve Hough, Michael Hough and granddaughter, Jodi Timmons in heaven.  He is sadly missed by his remaining children: Elaine Burch (T.J.), Linda Spence, Lelia Greer (Joe) and daughter-in-law, Debbie Hough.  He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.
Born March 28, 1924, Neil graduated from Daleville High School.  He was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran serving as an aircraft electrician in England during the war.  He served with the 490th Bomb Group USAAF Assoc.
After returning home, he built his career around his love and fascination with electricity.  Working as an electrician, he owned Progress Electric until retirement.  He recently received his 70-year pin as an IBEW local 855 member.
Neil and Betty found joy in fishing and spending time at their home in Arkansas.  He loved the outdoors and spent his days planting vegetable gardens, tending his apple orchard, and always had a project going on.  Neil remained continually active during his 99 years despite failing eyesight and hearing loss.
Visitation will be held at Garden View Funeral Home on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 1PM with a service to follow at 2pm.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with military honors performed by the Delaware County Honor Guard.
