Kenton Joe Dowd, 60, of Muncie, IN was called home to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born January 8, 1965 in Muncie, IN to his loving parents Ronald and Patricia (Beck) Dowd. After attending Southside High School Kent enlisted in the Army National Guard, where he completed 6 years of devoted service from 1983 to 1989. He took great pride in serving and loved his country. After his service, Kent began working as a coil winder for transformer cores at ABB in Muncie and concluded his professional career as a diesel mechanic. In his free time he enjoyed all things science fiction and history, tinkering with cars in his garage, and had a passion for collecting and repairing vintage tube radios.

Kent was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ronald and Patricia, and twin sister, Kristy Dowd. Kent is survived by his best friend and beloved life partner Annie Dowd, his son Kristopher (Danielle) Dowd, two daughters, Kari (Kegan) Roszell, Sydney (William) Dowd, and his grandchildren Kolten Wynn, Jaxon Dunn, Declan Dowd, Aria Dowd, Kenna Roszell, and Wiley Balint, his brother Douglas (Dawn) Dowd, niece Daylene (Andy) Gentry and many other beloved family members and friends.

Family will have a visitation Wednesday, August 27th from 11:00AM until 1:00PM, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, 47303. With burial to follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
