Kermit Lee Riggins, 91 of Muncie, died Saturday afternoon, April 16th, 2016 at his residence. He was born February 5th, 1925 in Raglesville, IN and was the son of the late Russell John & Maude (Stuckey) Riggins
Kermit was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed family vacations. Kermit retired from Interstate Trucking as a truck driver after 38 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Kermit loved being outdoors gardening and raising flowers. He was an avid sports fan as well. Kermit proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korea Conflict.
Kermit is survived by his loving wife Anna Lucille (Brock) Riggins of 66 years of Muncie; a son Jeffrey Lee Riggins (Sandra) of Waxhaw, NC; a daughter Patti Jo Mace of Muncie; a daughter-in-law Lydia Riggins of Parker City; two brothers Roger Riggins (Karin) of Arvada, CO and Kelly Riggins (Rosalee) of Loogootee, IN; seven grandchildren, Bradley Riggins Sr. (Brandi) of Muncie, Brian Riggins (Tiffany) of Muncie, Brock Riggins (Mandi) of Parker City, Brianna Riggins (Randy McCormick) of Parker City, Jon Hill (Erica) of Selma, Jeffrey Riggins (Heather) of Farmland, and Jenn Earehart (Jay) of Ridgeville; twenty-one great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Gregory Alan Riggins and three brothers and a sister.
Funeral Services for Kermit will be held Wednesday, April 20th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe Reffitt officiating. Burial with military honors being conducted by the United States Army and the Delaware County Honor Guard will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
