Kristi Lynn Forbes Royal of Muncie, Indiana passed away at her residence at the age of 60 on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. She was born on February 6, 1961 in Albany, Indiana to the late Donald and Beth (Kristi) Forbes.

Kristi was a proud Albany Wildcat. She graduated from Delta High School in 1979 and Ball State University in 1985 after her studies in both the Music and Criminal Justice Departments. She married Joe Royal on May 18, 1985, and together they started their family. She retired from the Ball State University Criminal Justice Department in 2018. Kristi was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a proud Ball State Alumni.

Kristi is survived by her husband, Joe Royal; sons, Matt Royal of Muncie, Indiana and Nick Royal (Brett Fullman) of Muncie, Indiana; brother, Jeff Forbes (Shiela) of Eaton, Indiana; sisters, Kim Hartsock (Jim) of Edinburgh, Indiana and Susan Ashby (Troy) of Muncie, Indiana; four grandchildren, Elliott Royal, Ruby Royal, Maddie Royal, and Hazel Royal, all of Muncie, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, great nephews, and cousins.

Kristi was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Beth (Kristi) Forbes.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. Memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the American Heart Association.
