Larry D. Benbow, 78, of Winchester, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle, IN.

Larry was born January 25, 1935 in Sulfur Springs, Indiana to the late Alva and Nellie Benbow. Larry worked for General Motors for 25 years retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Winchester Church of the Nazarene.

Larry is survived by two sons, Duane Benbow (wife Sue) of New Castle and Kenny Benbow (wife Judy) of New Castle; a sister, Nellanna Hiday (husband Jim) of Middletown; a brother, Jerry Benbow (wife Marcy) of Middletown; four grandchildren, Heather New, Jesse Benbow, Brandy DeNeve, and Ryan Griffey; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Wanda (Greene) Benbow, just five months earlier. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dawson Benbow; and a sister, Farrie Flowers.

A funeral service to celebrate Larry''s life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 27, 2013, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, with Pastor Danny Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Veteran''s of Delaware County Honor Guard.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday at Garden View Funeral Home.
