Larry R. Lehman, 79, of Muncie, IN. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday September 4, 2008 at the Woodland Care Center of Muncie. He was born on October 17, 1928 in W. VA the son of Leroy and Pearl (Holtzsclaw) Lehman. On June 24, 1948 in W. VA he married Astorth Mae (Burgess) who precedes him in death.
Larry was married for over 59 years and he loved to hunt and work on cars, he retired from GM of Muncie after 35 years of service. In Larrys younger years he worked as a coal miner.
Surviving relatives includes, three daughters, Fran Atkins (husband Michael) of Muncie, June Doty (husband Claude) of Muncie and Wavelene Brand (husband Donald F.) of Daleville, two brothers, Leo Lehman (wife Lillie) of Florida and Jerry Lehman (wife Connie) of Muncie, one sister, Marlene Huff (husband Ted) of Muncie, nine grand children, Chasity Long, Victora Jorqiera Ulloa, Lori Lehman, Donna Brand, Sarah Morgan, Rachael Atkins, Michael J. Atkins, Aaron Fisher and Nathanael Fisher; nine great grandchildren.
He was precede in death by both parents, one son, Larry Lehman Jr., two brothers, Harold Lehman, William Lehman, and three sisters, Garnett Gregory, Macil Hobbs and Carol.
Services will be Wednesday September 10, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. State Rd. 3 Muncie. Pastor Denny Helton will officiate the service, with burial to follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday September 10, 2008 at the funeral home.
